Andrew Matheson RBSA
50 Years at the RBSA
This exhibition celebrates Andrew’s 50-year association with the RBSA Gallery. Andrew exhibited his first work at the gallery in 1971 – he exhibited two round pots and a gouache painting ‘Advocates Close’ Edinburgh. You can see one of these pots on display at the exhibition! Andrew has always produced stoneware and porcelain reduction fired pieces, learning more skills and developing his work over the years. This exhibition is a celebration of Andrew and his 50 years at the RBSA Gallery.
Malcolm Brookes RBSA
Relating to Still Life
Malcolm is a figurative painter, who is mindful of the underlying abstract principles of pictorial composition. Subject matter is usually taken from things or places which he knows well and includes the genres of landscapes, seascapes, townscapes and architecture, figure, and still life, the latter loosely being the theme of the present exhibition.
Shenac Twiggs RBSA
Rhythms of Place
Shenac gathers inspiration from patterns within both urban and rural landscapes. The overlooked aspects of the everyday, together with a bold, contemporary style of strong graphic shapes, contrasts and edges, create a clean uncluttered image within Shenac’s linocuts. Over the years her practise has developed across many areas of contemporary art, and more recently into ceramics.
