Drypoint Etching for Beginners

Inspired by shape, pattern and abstract design, this is a great basic introduction to etching that will provide knowledge, technical skills and build confidence in intaglio printmaking. Suitable for beginners. This course is also particularly good for those who wish to develop decorative images and wish to discover the joys of printmaking and the plexiglass plate process.

One-to-one tutorials with Olivia Swinscoe
A must-have session for all artists and makers looking to improve their ability to light and photograph their work for print and online use. A 90-minute informative talk followed by optional one-to-one sessions for artists working in any medium. The talk will provide attendees with helpful tips on lighting, photographing and post-processing images of their work.
Optional one-to-one sessions will focus on lighting setup and camera settings or post-processing images for the consistent production of high-quality images of work. (Please state your preference at the time of booking. Those seeking guidance on both aspects can book two sessions, back-to-back.) Suitable for all abilities.

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of exhibitions, events and workshops.
The RBSA runs an exhibition venue – the RBSA Gallery – in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from the city centre. The gallery is open 7 days a week and admission to all our exhibitions is free.
