The RBSA Open is an open submission exhibition that brings together artists working in painting, print, sculpture, textiles, drawing, jewellery and ceramics. The judging panel comprises RBSA artists chaired by Wayne Attwood, President.
Join the RBSA Open artists for the closing party and prize giving on 4 April, 2 – 4pm.

17 Feb – 21 March
Using hand tools to carve directly into the deep black stone, Joan Sharma explores the relationship between planes, curves, smoothness and texture.
Join Lachlan Monaghan, dancer with the Royal Birmingham Ballet, on 21 March, 6 – 8pm for a talk about his photographic work and ballet career.

Upcoming Solo Exhibitions
23 March – 25 April
From 23 March, three new solo shows will begin. Ed Iscaacs’ new urban sketches capture highly detailed scenes of his home town, Wolverhampton.
Margaret Fairhead uses diverse techniques and stitch manipulation to produce textile and mixed media pieces.
Petra Rohr Rouendaal collects found objects to create clay sculptures. Drawing from her experiences in many continents, primarily Africa, this series of sculptures focus on her vast collection of found objects.

Find bright ceramics, nature-inspired prints and Spring jewellery collections in the RBSA Gallery Shop. All items are made by independent makers with a unique practice. You can learn more about the maker by asking gallery staff or reading their ‘artist statement’ when you make a purchase.

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of exhibitions, events and workshops.
The RBSA runs an exhibition venue – the RBSA Gallery – in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from the city centre. The gallery is open 7 days a week and admission to all our exhibitions is free.
