Free events at the RBSA this autumn for all the family…

Did you know that the RBSA regularly holds free artist events, tours and workshops where you can view artists at work and pick up some new skills?

This autumn sees an exciting programme showcasing what’s on offer at our beautiful Gallery in the Jewellery Quarter…

Fragility 8 – 19 October

To accompany this stunning textiles exhibition, Prism artists will be in the Gallery throughout their show, and have laid on an exciting programme of associated FREE events.

Hand-stitch as Meditation, Thursday 10 October, 2-4pm – A free workshop to learn how stitch can be therapeutic.

Show and Share Discussion Group, Wednesday 16 October, 11am-1pm – A free forum for members of the public to bring along a piece of work to discuss with Prism members.

Fun with Stitch Family Session, Saturday 19 October, 11am-1pm and 2-4pm – A free drop-in workshop for all the family! Meet a Prism artist and learn how to use a range of textile skills.

David Harban Print Sale


Unframed Print Sale, Saturday 2 November, 11am – 4pm

An excellent opportunity to see David’s show and peruse a range of additional unframed prints he has available for sale.



Celebratory Opening, Thursday 24 October, 6-8pm – Join the Sculptura group and Johannes von Stumm (Past President of the Royal Society of Sculptors and President of Oxford Art Society) to celebrate the exhibition opening.

Meet the Artists, Saturday 26 October and Saturday 2 November, 2-4pm – Members of Sculptura will be in the Gallery to greet visitors and provide information about the artworks on display.

Love of Landscape: The Art of Glyn Griffiths (1926 – 1999)


Celebratory Opening, Sunday 3 November, 12.30 – 2pm – Join exhibition curator, Brendan Flynn, and members of Glyn’s family to celebrate the show over a glass of wine. Everyone is welcome and the family would love to see past students and colleagues.

Abstract Variations 4 – 16 November

Celebratory Opening, Thursday 7 November, 5-7pm – An opportunity to meet the artists and celebrate the opening of their exhibition over a glass of wine.

Watercolour and Printmaking Demonstrations, Saturday 16 November, 11am-1pm and 2-4pm – See the Abstract Variations artists at work to learn more about the watercolour and printmaking techniques on display in the show.
