Calls for Entries: reminder of deadlines!

There are two crucial deadlines coming up for artists who want to be part of our exciting annual programme of exhibitions, attracting entries from across the UK.

The Portrait Prize and Friends Exhibition will see the artists who exhibit with us enjoy the prestige of a historic art society setting and a prime city centre location to showcase their work.

The Prize exhibition, Portrait Prize, Open All Media, and Print Prize are open to all, and attract entries from across the UK. Friends, Members & Associates, and StArt exhibitions are for artists with RBSA membership.

Portrait Prize: deadline 12 June

The RBSA stages prize shows to provide artists with the opportunity to show their work and be rewarded for their talents. This will be our sixth biennial Portrait Prize exhibition, and is one of the most popular shows in our annual calendar.

With a £1,000 top prize, the Portrait Prize promises to attract talent from across the country. Details are available at the main RBSA site.

Friends Exhibition: deadline 19 June

Our annual display of artwork by the Friends promotes their range of artistic talents and acknowledges their importance to the Society. Previously known as subscribers, the Friends have been part of the RBSA since the 1900s and the RBSA was one of the first societies to allow subscribers to have their own exhibitions.

The Friends exhibition features a range of work in a variety of media, and many of the pieces are for sale. To enter, go to the exhibition page.

You’ll find our entry fees very reasonably priced, and if you become a Friend of the RBSA, there’s no fee at all…

Benefits of responding to our Call for Entries include:

  1. The chance to be exhibited alongside national and internationally renowned artists

  2. Your work on the walls of a prestigious and historic art gallery

  3. Promotion across social media and to a network of collectors and art lovers

  4. Discounted entry fees for artists under 35

  5. No entry fees for Friends of the RBSA who pay display fees only

One of the chief benefits of joining us is that artists bypass entry fees and only pay display fees if their work is selected for certain exhibitions.

The RBSA strives to ensure widespread publicity and sustained promotion of all our exhibitions, both online and through our networks at a regional and national level.
