RBSA workshops are perfect for brushing up on skills or learning some new ones, with professional artists offering tips on how to improve.
Our February workshops are proving extremely popular. You can learn across a range of disciplines and media.
We have classes in painting, screen-printing and drawing, as well as workshops focusing on abstract subjects. You’ll find a wide range of workshops to suit all abilities, covering a variety of interesting subjects.

February highlights include:
Abstract Landscapes: 12 – 13 February – This workshop with Zarina Keyani , Friend of the RBSA, explores colour, form, and technique to create abstract landscapes. This workshop is perfect for beginners, or a painter looking to try something new.
Painting Portraits in Oils: 17 February – Receive an introduction to portrait oil painting with Fran Currie ARBSA: learn about the basic palette, how to start a painting, facial proportions, and how to bring life to a portrait. Designed for beginners but suitable for intermediates seeking a ‘refresher’.
Painting from Life in Oils: 19 – 20 February – This two-day workshop with Alex Callaway RBSA gives you the opportunity to produce your own still-life painting, being guided by a step-by-step approach. Once again, all abilities are invited to take part, and explore the challenge of oils.
Experimental Portrait Painting: 21- 22 February – This workshop held by Jain McKay ARBSA works with a variety of materials to explore different approaches, in turn creating experimental portraits. This is a workshop great for beginners, as well as more experienced portrait artists looking to explore a new approach.
Screen Printing with Pencils and Stencils: 24 February – All abilities are welcome to attend this workshop by Karoline Rerrie, Friend of the RBSA: explore stencil cutting and screen printing, creating colourful and textured prints.
