The RBSA runs summer workshops in July and August, with professional artists offering tips on how to improve your skills or learn something new.
This year’s workshops are proving extremely popular. You can learn across a range of disciplines and media. We have classes in painting, screen-printing, mono-printing, photography, iPad art, and textiles. There’s also series of portrait-themed workshops in August.

Highlights across the summer include:
Improving Your Images: Wed 26 July – step-by-step guidance on how to edit and organise images of your artwork using a range of imaging tools, including ones that are free to use online.
Flowers in Mixed Media: Fri 28 July – Taking flowers as your source of inspiration, explore a mix of inks, watercolour, and collage to create a final piece of art.
Painting Small with a Big Brush: Fri 4 Aug – Produce a series of small, expressive watercolours in this workshop ideal for beginners.
Eat Cake and Make Screen-Printed Tote Bags: Mon 7 Aug – Print your own design on a tote bag! All materials and cake included in this day workshop suitable for all levels of experience.
Mono-Print for Beginners: Thur 10 Aug – Discover how to use simple techniques to create your own printed artworks. Suitable for print enthusiasts and beginners alike.
The iPad Portrait: Wed 16 Aug – Gain hints and tips on some of the apps and technology available for supporting or perfecting your portraits. Good intro to the two-day class Capturing a Likeness from Life.

Workshops range from one to four days and include weekend dates.
There are discounts for Members, Associates, Friends and students in full-time education.
Art materials and hot drinks are included, and a certificate of attendance can be provided.
