Terry Lord's career spanned forty years working as a professional artist illustrating greetings cards and children's books, working with watercolour, gouache and acrylics.
Looking for a new challenge, Terry had always wanted to try oil painting. Working with this new medium came recognition, with his paintings being accepted for Bath Open, Chelsea Art Society, Leicester, Derbyshire Open, Bristol, and the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries. In 2016 he was elected as a member of the Leicester Society of Artists, and after several years exhibiting in open exhibitions at the RBSA, he was welcomed as an Associate in 2018. His main points of interest are coastal scenes, cityscapes and landscapes. In all three he seeks to depict light, mood and atmosphere.
