Ann Clough

RBSA

Originally, Ann Clough only painted from life, especially portraiture. As she travelled to many climes, spending happy hours, sketching, painting and meeting people who had great input into the surroundings, the challenge to capture a fleeting moment became all important.

At the beginning of her processes an idea is born as she reflects and looks through her sketches, drawings and photographs and strives to capture the thought. The result can often be quite different, as she is carried along and the work develops, but hopefully something of the very essence of the location is captured in colour, light and vitality of the local people.
