Mary Flitcroft ARBSA

Light Held and Deflected: Vessels and Panels in Porcelain

12 April - 22 May 2021

About the exhibition

Mary Flitcroft studied ceramics at Harrow College of Art, London, and Loughborough College of Art (BA Hons) 1991-1993.

Having been a teacher for 25 years, she now works as a ceramic artist, currently working with porcelain clay.

Mary is drawn to contemplative art and sees clay as a powerful medium for abstract, non-figurative work. She enjoys working with the tension between abstract and functional forms.

Attracted by porcelain’s qualities of fragility and strength, Mary also uses the shimmer of lustres to create a brightness that flickers over and through each of her latest pieces.
