About the exhibition
Linda Nevill studied for an MA Hons in the History of Art at Edinburgh University and a BA Hons in Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Wolverhampton.
In her pursuit of a non-toxic approach to printmaking, Linda has taken courses in New Mexico, New York and Dumfries. She has lived and taught in Belgium, Sweden and the UK, and has been creating happily in her studio in the West Midlands for many years.
Linda’s most recent work has been collagraphs of the English landscape. She generally sketches outdoors, then works with these drawings and her memories and sensations to create finished works. She exhibits widely and in 2017 had an etching accepted into the Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent collection.
This series of abstract landscapes are individually printed using different coloured inks, each one is unique.
Linda used pieces of card and created different textures using carborundum grit and glue. Then scoring and scraping the surface of the card, applying plaster and gesso and other materials.
Linda then applies different coloured inks to the card plates and prints them using an etching press.
