About the exhibition
This exhibition celebrates Andrew Matheson exhibiting at the RBSA for 50 years. He first submitted some work in the Watercolour and Craftwork Open Exhibition in 1971. At this time, the head of painting, Bill Morris was an Associate of the RBSA and suggested Andrew enter work for the exhibition.
Andrew has always produced stoneware and porcelain reduction fired pieces, either functional or decorative.
The majority of the work on display in the Gallery and online represent more recent ideas with some pieces made earlier. Some new ideas include mixing stoneware and earthenware clay for a darker more speckled body and working with shino glazes.
Smaller artworks are available to buy online and depending on the size can be posted for. Larger works are collection in store only.
