Sculpture Trail

23 June — 23 August 2014

Crossing the Bridge

This Sculpture Trail is a new and exciting venture that brings sculpture by a range of RBSA artists into the public realm.

We aim for this project to raise the profile of the RBSA, highlight sculpture as an exciting art medium and build closer contacts with our
local business community.

The route for the trail is from Birmingham Cathedral (St. Philip’s), down Church Street, across the foot-bridge, up Ludgate Hill, through
St Paul’s Square to the RBSA Gallery in Brook Street. A map is available to either download from this page (top right) or pick up at the Gallery. It lists the venues, artists and exhibits.

A show of sculpture by the artists participating in the Trail will be on display in the RBSA Gallery's ground floor café area. There is also a sound sculpture in Gallery 2 by Jonty Harrison, Professor of Composition and Electroacoustic Music at the University of Birmingham. He is an international figure in his field and has taken inspiration from the foot-bridge and city to create his sound piece.
