Summary of the exhibition

Our annual Prize exhibition attracts a wide variety of work in a range of media and subjects. Artists from across the region and beyond compete for inclusion, producing a strong and vibrant show.

The show provides opportunities for art-buyers and artists alike because the majority of artworks are for sale and there are a range of prizes to be won, including a top prize of £1,000.

Information for artists wishing to enter

Deadline to enter

Entry form, digital file(s) of the piece(s) entered and entry fee must be received by 4pm on Wednesday 3 April.

The application pack is available to download via the link in the upper-right corner of this page. The PayPal buttons are located below.

Selection

All entries must be submitted digitally and will be selected by guest judges. This year’s exhibition will be selected by Emalee Beddoes-Davis, Curator (Modern & Contemporary Art) at Birmingham Museums Trust, and Jay Taylor, Co-founder of Odox and Course Director for Fine Art & Illustration at Coventry University.

Closing Party

The Prize closing party will take place on Friday 21 June, 6-8pm. The Speaker will be Professor Andrew Kulman, Principal Lecturer in Visual Communication at the School of Visual Communication, Birmingham City University.


Call for entries - How to enter

  2. Read through all the terms and conditions in the application pack.
  3. Complete the entry form and exhibit labels.
  4. Return the entry form by the deadline stated in the application pack. We recommend that artists submitting their entry by e-mail do so several days before the deadline to ensure there is time to deal with any technical difficulties.
  5. Pay your entry fee using PayPal (see below), by calling the Gallery (0121 236 4353) to pay by card over the phone, or by paying in person at the Gallery by cash or card.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions provided and check your payment carefully.

  1. Check how many works you are entering.
  2. Go to the correct button for your age - there are different buttons for artists aged over 35 and artists aged 35 and under.
  3. Select the correct entry fee amount from the drop down menu.
  4. Click the 'Pay your entry fee now' button. The yellow checkout button will take you to your PayPal account. The white button will take you to a guest account to pay using your card details.
  5. Do not edit the entry fee quantities in PayPal.

Downloading files involves many variables and these may cause various problems. If you experience any issue when downloading the application pack please check the following to help you resolve the problem:

+ Is the latest (free) version of Adobe® Reader® installed on your computer?

+ Which browser are you using? We recommend Firefox.

+ Check that your computer settings allow you to download files.

If you are still unable to download the application pack after checking the above, please try to right click the link and choose 'Save link as'.
