Summary of the exhibition

This retrospective traces Kate's fascinating life through her paintings, prints, and ephemera. Kate was a longstanding member of the RBSA and became the Society's first Professor of Painting in 1991. Kate was also a respected tutor at the Birmingham School of Art, where she worked alongside fellow influential artist, Bernard Fleetwood-Walker.

Free associated events

Private View, Tuesday 3 September, 6-8pm - Join us as we celebrate Kate's life and work over a glass of wine, with an opening speech by Helen Meller, British cultural historian and academic, Professor Emerita, Urban History, University of Nottingham. 

Painting in the Style of Kate Fryer RBSA, Saturday 7 September, 11am-1pm and 2-4pm - Join Tony Yates RBSA as he demonstrates Kate's distinctive style using original source material.

These events are free, open to all, and there is no need to book.

Book a group visit

The RBSA is open 7 days a week and is free to visit. Group visits and tour groups are welcome.
