Live Stream Tour of 'A Life's Journey'

Summary of activity

Join us online for the RBSA Gallery's first ever live streamed tour! Arts Educator, Jon Sleigh, will provide insights into the artworks on display in Life's Journey: The Art of Katherine Mary Fryer (1910-2017), which will be streamed live on Periscope.

The aim of this activity is to try new approaches to exhibition engagement and enable audiences outside of the Gallery to enjoy the art on display. However, if you would like to attend the tour in person, you are most welcome to do so.


1 - 2pm

If you would like to attend the tour in person, please arrive at the Gallery at 12.45pm to sign in at the ground floor desk.

Viewing online

To view the tour live, you will need to log in to Periscope. Periscope is an app that lets you share and experience live video streams direct from your smartphone or tablet. Reminders about the tour will be posted on the RBSA Gallery's social media accounts closer to the time.

To coincide with A Life's Journey: The Art of Katherine Mary Fryer (1910-2017) exhibition

A Life's Journey traces Kate's fascinating life through her paintings, prints, and ephemera. Kate was a longstanding member of the RBSA and became the Society's first Professor of Painting in 1991. Kate was also a respected tutor at the Birmingham School of Art, where she worked alongside fellow influential artist, Bernard Fleetwood-Walker.
