Janet Cottrell RBSA

After leaving work, Janet studied Ceramics at Sutton Coldfield College. She has since set up her own studio at home. She was elected as an associate of the RBSA in 1993, and as a member in 1995. Janet regularly exhibits with a number of societies including the Birmingham Art Circle and the Midland Potters Association. Janet works mainly in stoneware using throwing, slabbing and hand building techniques. A lot of her inspiration comes from nature and modern Japanese pottery such as Ikebana. Janet’s pots are all unique and not constrained by the repetition of a single style.
