Anthony Yates

Anthony Yates

At the age of sixteen, Anthony joined a commercial art studio. He remained in this trade for 23 years and attended evening classes at Bournville College of Art. He now paints full-time. A modern figurative painter, Anthony will either make a painting from working drawings or paint directly from the subject. Elected an Associate of the RBSA in 1998, he became a full Member in 2002. Since then, he has also been elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA). A regular exhibitor around the country he recently had a successful one-man exhibition at the Fosse Gallery, Stow-on-the-Wold in 2009. The source of his inspiration is everyday life: figures on a beach, a nude in the bathroom, a girl feeding ducks.
