Paul  Williamson

Paul trained at Birmingham College of Art and St Mary’s College, Strawberry Hill. He had a successful career as an Art and Design teacher and contines to be actively involved in Adult Educations as a painting and pottery tutor, Artist in Residence and Lecturer. Paul was elected an Associate Member of the RBSA in 1971, becoming a full member in 1974. He has held the posts of Hon. Curator and Vice-President. Paul has exhibited widely and undertaken many commissions for architectural reliefs. The work is predominantly stoneware ceramic, but often incorporates wood and mosaic. Inspiration comes from the mixing of mechanical and organic forms. Paul is also influenced by his travels in France, Italy and Spain, and the study of Medieval architecture. Recently, Paul was commissioned to design the Birmingham Peace Garden.
