Annette Lucas

Annette works in 2D and 3D, using: fine art textiles, sculpture and millinery techniques and materials. She likes the variety that can be achieved by combining more than one specialism. She runs workshops in Creative Textiles, working in; schools, colleges and with community groups including a regular, weekly class in Bournville, Birmingham. Annette has exhibited at: Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham City University, Birmingham & Midland Institute, Sewing for Pleasure, Fashion and Embroidery shows NEC Birmingham, Falmouth Arts Centre, LCB Design Depot Leicester, RBSA, Selly Manor Birmingham, St Martin’s Church in the Bull Ring, Whitechapel Gallery London. Her recent work includes: • Big Arts Week, Artist In Residence for Worcester Council • Making Moves II Project, Artist In Residence for Birmingham City University (BCU), Birmingham Council and Craftspace. • Annual exhibitions with the Quatrefoil artists’ group, at venues around the Midlands • Co-curator on the Next Wave Project for RBSA
