Carole Baker

Carole has been working as a Professional Artist from her studio in Chase Terrace, Staffordshire since 2007. She attended Matthew Boulton College and later studied at Lichfield School of Art. She regularly exhibits in galleries, open exhibitions and highly respected art fairs throughout the UK. She was elected as an associate of the RBSA in 2003, and made a full member in 2009. A selection of her work has been produced as limited edition prints and reproduced in a prestigious Art Calendar for several years. A 10-page feature and follow-up article has been published in International Artist Magazine. Inspired by the landscape; bold, vibrant colour and texture fascinate her and she strives to create exciting and evocative paintings. She paints in acrylics, watercolour and mixed media. On her travels, Carole sketches prolifically and gets inspiration from painting all over the UK and abroad. She gathers enough information to develop a series of paintings both in terms of detail and colour, using the sketches and photographs taken on location as a starting point only. Carole tends to paint the way she feels about the subject as opposed to copying literally, giving her the chance to put her own personal stamp on the subject. For Carole, painting comes from the heart and it is something she is highly passionate about.
