By Car
Use any of the approach routes to Birmingham (M5, M6, M40, M42, A34, A38, A41, A456, A457) and follow signs to the city centre.

Car Parking
Meter parking is available on St Paul's Square and in the surrounding streets.  These allow parking for up to four hours; charges start at 40p for one hour.  There is a multi-storey car park opposite the Gallery, on the corner of Newhall Street and Brook Street, accessed via Newhall Street or St Paul's Square.  This is a pay-on-exit car park; parking for up to two hours costs £2.90.

Walking route from Snow Hill Station
Follow exit signs from the platform, up the escalator, and follow exit “Way out to City Centre” until Colmore Row is reached.  Turn right along Colmore Row.  At the traffic lights turn right onto Newhall Street, towards St Paul’s Square as indicated by the blue fingerpost.  Walk down Newhall Street, cross Great Charles Street and continue along Newhall Street.  At the multi storey car park turn right onto Brook Street following the blue fingerpost indicating RBSA Gallery.  The Gallery is on the left hand side of Brook Street, on the corner of James Street, just before St Paul’s Square

Taking the bus from Colmore Row,  near Snow Hill Station
From Snow Hill Station exit onto Colmore Row, cross over road and turn right to walk alongside railings to the Cathedral.  The 101 bus departs from the 6th bus shelter (slightly apart from the others near the far end of the churchyard) every 15 minutes

Walking route from Birmingham New Street Station
Via Stephenson Street exit
The most direct route is to leave the station via the Stephenson Street exit which is accessed from the far end of the ‘b’ platform.  However there is no lift access via this exit, so if lift access is required please follow instructions for the walking route via the ‘a’ platform.


Leave the platform via the staircase to be found at the far end of the ‘b’ platform and follow exit signs to Stephenson Street.  Turn right onto Stephenson Street and cross the street via the pelican crossing and onto Temple Street.  Walk up towards St Philip’s Square.  Cross the Square onto Colmore Row.  Turn left onto Colmore Row.  At the traffic lights turn right onto Newhall Street, towards St Paul’s Square as indicated by the blue fingerpost.  Walk down Newhall Street, cross Great Charles Street and continue along Newhall Street.  At the multi storey car park turn right onto Brook Street following the blue fingerpost indicating RBSA Gallery.  The Gallery is on the left hand side of Brook Street, on the corner of James Street, just before St Paul’s Square

This walk should take around 10 – 15 minutes.

Walking route from Birmingham New Street Station, main exit
Leave the platform via the main exit at the centre of the platform or use the lift at the ‘a’ end of the platform.  From the ticket barrier turn left and walk through the station concourse, keeping the newsagents on your left and leave the station in the direction of the Bullring, passing a Marks & Spencer ‘simply food’ shop on your left.  Pass the short stay car park on your right to reach the main road.  Here turn left and walk towards the Rotunda.  Pass the Rotunda and turn left onto New Street, a pedestrianised street.  At the ramp leading up to the Pallasades shopping centre turn right up Corporation Street.  Just before the House of Fraser store turn left onto Cherry Street.  Walk up Cherry Street to St Philips Square.  Cross the Square and turn left onto Colmore Row.  At the traffic lights turn right onto Newhall Street, towards St Paul’s Square as indicated by the blue fingerpost.  Walk down Newhall Street, cross Great Charles Street and continue along Newhall Street.  At the multi storey car park turn right onto Brook Street following the blue fingerpost indicating RBSA Gallery.  The Gallery is on the left hand side of Brook Street, on the corner of James Street, just before St Paul’s Square.

Walking route from the Bullring
From the statue of the bull (with your back to the statue) turn left to walk down New Street.  At the ramp leading up to the Pallasades shopping centre turn right up Corporation Street.  Just before the House of Fraser store turn left onto Cherry Street.  Walk up Cherry Street to St Philips Square.  Cross the Square and turn left onto Colmore Row.  At the traffic lights turn right onto Newhall Street, towards St Paul’s Square as indicated by the blue fingerpost.  Walk down Newhall Street, cross Great Charles Street and continue along Newhall Street.  At the multi storey car park turn right onto Brook Street following the blue fingerpost indicating RBSA Gallery.  The Gallery is on the left hand side of Brook Street, on the corner of James Street, just before St Paul’s Square.

Driving from Solihull
Depart on Manor Square, Turn left onto The Square, Bear right onto New Road, Bear left and continue straight ahead onto New Road.  Turn left onto B4102.  At roundabout take 2nd exit onto B425.  Continue straight ahead onto A41 Warwick Road.  At the roundabout take 3rd exit continuing on A41 Warwick Road.  At roundabout take 2nd exit, continuing on A41.  At next roundabout take 2nd exit continuing on A41 Warwick Road for 0.3 miles.  At T-Junction turn Right onto A34 Stratford Road. At traffic lights turn Left onto A4540 Highgate Road.  At roundabout take 2nd exit continuing on A4540 continuing straight ahead onto slip road.  At roundabout take 1st exit onto Belgrave Middleway and Bear Right, turning Left onto A38.  Continue straight onto A4400, Bearing Left onto slip road.  Continue straight onto Suffolk Street Queensway.  Continue straight ahead onto Paradise Circus Queensway.  Bear Left onto Great Charles Street Queensway. At traffic lights on brow of hill, turn Left onto Newhall Street.  Take 3rd turning on Right into Brook Street.  RBSA Gallery is on your left opposite an Italian restaurant.
