Roy Abell

A former lecturer at the Birmingham School of Art at Margaret Street, Roy Abell specialises in the use of watercolours and oils.
His work depicts a broad range of subjects from figure studies through to seascapes, with a special love of empty craggy landscapes and canal-side views in Amsterdam.

In the early days of the development of the North Sea Oil industry, Roy won a major commission from BP and produced a series of works based on oil rigs in the north sea. He has works in many private and corporate collections. Roy Abell was elected an Associate of the RBSA in 1964, becoming a full Member in 1973.
