Jan Gay
I am a practising 2D artist working in acrylic, soft pastel and mixed media. Bold colour, abstract design and experimental mark making are elements I am particularly interested in, hence my attraction to subjects like building sites and circuses. I develop my artwork in various ways painting large canvases, monoprints and images made up of 2, 3 or 4 separate pieces hung in sequence.
I completed a BA Art and Design Course in 1997 at the University of Central England and became an Associate Member of the RBSA in 2007.
My triptych is from a solo exhibition called ‘The Circus’ and was hung in the Birmingham Open Exhibition.
