Carol Hill

I started painting in the 60's whilst I lived in the Far East.  I have had many tutors over the years and paint both in watercolour and in oils.

I am a fully trained Adult Education Teacher and I travel around the country
giving demonstrations and workshops.  I paint from my studio at home and
enjoy walking in the Peak District which keeps my inspiration levels topped  up!.

I also like to travel around the world and paint when I am visiting an interesting place.  I love the sutleties of watercolour and try to capture the atmosphere in the first instance.  I am  a member of the Society of Women Artists and a Member of the Society of Floral Painters.

Although I mainly paint landscape and seascape, I like to have a change now and a gain and paint flowers or still-life.

I have exhibited at the Westminster Galleries in London, also the Mall Galleries and I have demonstrated watercolour at the Mall Galleries for the  SWA.

My paintings are  exhibited in the Little London Gallery in Holloway, nr. Matlock in Derbyshire.

I have been awarded the "HRH Princes Michael of Kent watercolour award" - for the most outstanding watercolour painting in the Society of Women Artist's Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London 2009.
