Arthur Lockwood
I paint in watercolours.
My main subjects are: urban especially areas
that are changing and industrial including
work inside factories.
Recent exhibitions have been "Industrial
Dudley" paintings of foundries and
factories shown at Dudley Art Gallery and
"Portrait of a City" paintings
of Birmingham done over fifteen years shown
at Birmingham Art Gallery.
My paintings of the last days of Coventry
Colliery were shown at the Herbert Art Gallery,
Coventry and the National Coal Mining Museum,
Yorkshire.
I am interested in the traditional factory
that works with metal many of which are
now closing. One such factory I painted
was the Black Country's last cut nail and
tack factory at Wolverhampton.
